Cherry blossom usually blooms from the end or March to the beginning of April. In Tokyo city, there are many spots you can enjoy Hanami, cherry blossom viewing and majoy sightseeing spots at the same time.
Ueno is located in north east of central Tokyo. Ueno park has about 800 Sakura trees and it creates beautiful cherry blossom tunnel with 1800 lanterns. In Ueno park, there also Ueno zoo, Tokyo national museum, and Ueno toshogu shrine.
Sumida park is located along the Sumida river and it is close to Sensoji temple with Nakamise souvenir shopping streets. River Cruise from Asakusa to Odaiba bay area is a good to see Cherry blossom, Tokyo Sky Tree, and Rainbow bridge in the Tokyo Bay.
Yoyogi Park is a 54.1 ha (134 acres) large park located in central Tokyo. Many people bring foods and drinks and do a picnic under cherry blossom trees. Next to the Yoyogi park, there is the Meiji Jingu Shrine surrounded by a forest. When you go back to Harajyuku station, you will see Omotesando shopping street and Takeshita street to see modern teen culture.
It is a par of the moat of Imperial Palace which used to be the Edo castle. The combination of water and cherry blossom is outstanding. From Tokyo station, you can arrive at Otemon gate of east garden by 10 minutes walk, stroll garden and go to Chidorigafuchi. From there you can also visit the Yasukuni shrine by 10 minutes walk.
